Front-Row Seat. Over Two Decades. Here’s What I Learned.

I grew up in Buenos Aires, came to North America as a young man, and built a career that took me from Bell Canada and Hewlett-Packard to Sun Microsystems — where I helped grow the company from $500 million to $7.5 billion in revenue across Canada, Japan, Asia, Australia and Latin America.

In 2002 I founded Carlos Fox Leadership. In 2004 I became a TEC Canada Chair in Ottawa. I never looked back.

For over two decades I have had the privilege of sitting across from CEOs and senior executives at some of Ottawa’s most significant companies — not to tell them what to do, but to help them find the clarity, courage, and community to lead better.

Over time, I’ve come to believe that what makes this work effective is perspective — being alongside leaders, not inside their role.

Increasingly, my work has focused on what happens after leadership — helping CEOs navigate the transition into what I call the Third Act.

Since 2004 I have facilitated more than 700 full-day TEC sessions, conducted over 6,000 one-to-one coaching sessions with CEOs and senior executives, and led more than 60 member retreats — many of them including spouses, because great leadership doesn't stop at the office door.

I hold a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering and a Master's in Management Sciences with a focus on Organizational Behaviour Psychology from the University of Waterloo. My wife and I are proud parents of four children.

In 2022 I walked the Camino de Santiago — 800 kilometres across northern Spain. I documented the journey day by day. If you're curious about what a leadership coach thinks about when he's walking alone for 38 days, you're welcome to follow along.
