Post Camino - Day 2 Madrid

Well, yesterday was a fun day in one of my favourite big cities, top 3, main reason is that it reminds me so much of Buenos Aires where I was raised and all the cultural, foods and customs that are alike.

Besides visiting the big cathedral, walking around by the palace, having lunch at the very fun although expensive Mercado San Miguel (2 min walk from my AirBnb), strolling through Plaza Mayor and the Latina neighborhoods, the main event was attending the ROLLING STONES concert at the huge Metropolitan Stadium home of Atletico Madrid (the second Madrid soccer club, the other being Real Madrid, who just beat Liverpool for the European Team cup). It was 45 min by metro. Very efficient subway service.

The Stones were great. They still know how to entertain the crowds, the music was awesome (singing good enough) and Jagger still has amazing energy at 78. It was very symbolic for me to end the epic adventure I have been on with such an energetic finale celebration.

A fun thing, I got a much needed haircut in the oldest barber shop in Madrid, opened in 1900 and located on the main floor of where my AirBnb place is.
